A Little Lingerie Wisdom: Choose a workout that makes you feel beautiful.
I started working out regularly when I was 15 years old, when I fell in love with aerobics and Charlene Prickett’s cable program. Every evening I raced in front of the television and jumped and kicked and sweated like crazy. I did different aerobics programs for the rest of my teens, until at 19 I discovered belly dancing. It turned out that Cassandra Shore, one of the world’s best belly dancers lived in Minneapolis, my hometown, so I thought I’d give it a try. And here I am, 18 years later, still belly dancing.
What I like best about it is that every time I dance, I feel beautiful. I see the grace it has helped me develop, and how it gives me an expression for whatever it is I’m feeling. It helps me see that I am beautiful already, and lets me revel in that, rather than try to fix some “target area.”
